Hello,
How can I decrease the distance between the page title (arrow--> welcome) and the start of the <H1> title. Seems to be a huge gap in space. All pages have this.

Thanks so much in advance for the help.

I'd like to add to my above post....
1. How can I remove the arrow that is before the page title and the "by admin" that sits directly below it.
2. Is there a way to increase the page title? Welcome, About..etc..
3. I'd like to remove the "comments" on all pages except for the actual page we will blogging on. Which is link "WOD"
4. When on the leave a comment page: http://crossfitcv.com/?p=175#respond
a. How do you remove all the "Share it" items. We are only using FB and Twitter at the moment.
b. No security question comes up to post a comment.
Thanks again and sorry for all the questions. I know how to modify the pages, so if you point me to the correct files, I will be able to do it.
Regards,
Robin
Hey Robin...
We'd really love to guide you step by step in customizing your theme, but I'm sure you'll understand that we simply don't have the resources to address questions like this on the multiplicity of ways that folks could want to change stuff.
We CAN make some suggestions. The first step in modifying a theme is, as you correctly point out, locating the element. You can do this with an understanding of how the parts of WP themes fit together, and tools like Firebug in FireFox, "Inspect element" in Webkit browsers, etc.
Once you've found the item, inspection it will normally reveal how it's, for example, showing an image. If it's not obvious, then perhaps it's done via CSS, in which case FireBug will help you.
You can see you'll need an understanding of these technologies (or have someone who does, at hand) to make the changes you want to make.
Good luck, and happy customizing!
I understand your position.
A. How about telling me what page I need to look at to change the spacing between the header and body copy. I can play around with the code, just need to know which page to look at.
b. No security question comes up to post a comment.
Can anyone else answer any of my questions? :)
Thanks,
Robin
Hey Robin..
Pages use page.php and posts use single.php. Perhaps you'd like to take a look here to get an understanding of how a WordPress theme fits together?
And in response to your second question, no, there is no Capcha or security question built into the commenting functionality. But if you Google the term "wordpress comment capcha plugin", you'll find that there are many plugins that offer this functionality. One of them is sure to meet your needs.
All the best,
George.
Thanks! I did figure out my questions. I appreciate your timely response. :)
